Did we really just start February? How is that even possible? Also, how does January feel like it’s five months in one, but December felt like a week and a half tops? Like, time really is an illusion, isn’t it? Okay–enough of the time crisis feeling.
So, I posted the following TikTok a few days ago, and ever since my anxiety has been on high alert.

Meaning, as of writing this, there is only 26 days until the publish button is pressed on my debut book! Meaning I’m nervous.

Why? Because I’m as close as I’ve ever been. And that my friend, is scary. But I am not letting that fear keep it from happening. So, since it’s happening.

How about something just for the blog?

Does anyone like it? I love it! I laid in a snow bank to get the pictures that I used to get this cover. As much as I loved the other version, this one feels very right. I can’t quite put that into words on what that something is, but this cover just makes me happy. Anyone–onto my list.

1. What is my book?
   My book is a young adult fiction story. This is book one of three planned books. There is 31,377 words if my word counter on my writing program is correct. (Not counting my title page or acknowledgments.) I have a hard time putting it in a specific genre, so I’ve labeled it as general fiction.
2. My story is something that has been with me for years. In 2016? I put it down for the first time and made it more than an adaptive daydream for Nano. In 2023 I met with my bestie and asked her for help. Because I knew I had to go for this. I had made that choice in 2022 that no matter what I was going to make an attempt to be a published author.
3. This first attempt of a journey of publishing is coming to an end. That is terrifying. Because now others have a piece of me. And others will be cruel. I expect it. I know that while I have complete faith in this story. I know that if given the chance others might like this story, even love it. I know that it has a compelling plot. I just know that reviews can be hard.  Being the people pleaser that I am, it’s scary that others will not like this.
4. Whew. I have three major things on my to-do list left. Then about three or four minor things from the list. The final thing is my launch plan. This blog is a part of that. So. 26 days until the book is released. Please like me on my socials so you can see links and have the info as soon as I give it out.
